We have several other species that we target here in Southwest Florida. For starters, the trout fishing can produce some great action, especially during the cooler months. A day throwing jigs on the grass flats can be very productive and they are always eager to hit live baits! You will probably catch your fair share of ladyfish, mackerel, pompano, bluefish and small jacks right along side the trout, too. A cobia or shark, could always be caught cruising through, so keep your eyes peeled. If you want high action on fly, plug or spin this is the way to go!

During certain times of the year, we may fish the passes for grouper and snappers, chum sharks on the flats, rig wire leaders for mackerel and kingfish offshore, sight fish permit on the near shore wrecks, live chum bonita off the beach or run the trap lines for tripletail. You could also catch a sheephead, goliath grouper, black drum, flounder and the list goes on. Your options are endless along the Lee County Coast! There is something here for everyone to enjoy from the first timer to you "Old Salts". Check out these species and their restrictions at MyFWC.com.
